Ebrahim Emad was born in Salmas, Iran in 1971 and lived most of his school-age life there. He has had a passion for art since childhood. He moved to Tehran, capital of Iran, and started working on his calligraphy skill in different styles. After a few years of hard work and self-study, his artistic talent led him to pursue his dreams. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Art from Sooreh University and a Master’s degree in Art from Academy of Art University in Iran. Both of these programs involve intensive graphic and fine arts studies. His early work focused on teaching and calligraphic research involving the exploration of calligraphy as a fine art. Later on, he joined Iranian Calligraphers’ Society where he worked on his instinctive calligraphy talent under a great calligraphy master’s supervision.
He has had numerous solo exhibitions in Malaysia, Dubai, and Iran and also had participated in many group international exhibitions. He was rewarded by Malaysian secretary of Culture for his innovation in combing two opposite style, (pure traditional art and contemporary graphical techniques) and adding a flavor of nature into it. His dedication and devotion to the art of calligraphy, illumination, and miniature encouraged him to establish Katibeh Visual Art Academy to introduce and promote these unique forms of art to the art lovers from all over the world.
